Image 11: Some old cars hidden away in the brush just west of Butler.
-

Image 12: Between McDade and Elgin looking east.
-

Image 13: and looking west...
-

Image 14: Just south of Elgin, the Austin Regional crosses the Union Pacific
at a four-way intersection. This is looking south at the UP line.
-

Image 15: Looking north on the UP line. In the distance, you can see the
red signal guarding the four-way crossing. Can't see it?
-

Image 16: OK, here's the same picture zoomed in. It's amazing what you can
do when you have a little extra resolution.
-

Image 17: Looking west on the Austin Regional.
-

Image 18: This is the second time I've caught a UP crew going dead
on the law. They aren't allowed to work more than 12 hours, so they
have to ditch their train and an ICC van comes to take them home.
-

Image 19: They've had to cut their train in two at this grade crossing.
This is south of Elgin, but looking north toward the engines.
-

Image 20: Same spot looking south at the rear section of the train.
Union Pacific is also hauling rock trains, perhaps off the Austin line?
-

Image 21: Sign says "Elgin", but Elgin is the other way.
-
