After the Ice Storm of the 15th/16th

- What we had was 27 degrees F on the ground and rain coming from the sky. The combination creates a lot of ice. These bushes are pulled over by the weight of the ice. - Even the China Girl is iced up. "It's berry cold", she said. - "This is most embarrassing", said the White Pine. And the driveway is not fit to walk on. I had to dump lots of salt on it. - I didn't know what caused "droop trees" (from previous articles). But now I do. This is a neighbor's tree. - What a pitiful site. All of the white pines are bending in humility.
