McNeal, Texas - April 30, 2006

- Here's another central Texas railroad. It's the Austin Area Terminal Railroad. Here, just north of Austin, it is crossing over the Union Pacific main line. - With a variety on leased locomotives (mostly SD40-2s) this line is a stone hauler. - I guess the line has a few owned locomotives, but I'm not sure. - Here's one that was used on the Hill Country Flyer the first time I rode it. - Next time I'm in Texas, I hope to get some photos of the line. It is a lazy low country line with many wooden trestles over wetlands and washes. End.
