The forecasters called for 10 to 18 inches of snow for today. - What we actually got was 2 to 3 inches of rain, followed by another 2 to 4 inches of snow. The river is full. - This is the east fork. One of two brooks that run seasonally, but usually in the spring. It is now mid-winter. - In the summer, you can't even tell the bog is here because of the dense foliage. - Last spring I bought a pump to allow me to pump water out of this brook to water lawns. Now I'm using that pump to move water from my driveway back into the brook. - And what is the west fork doing? Running at flank speed again, flowing over the ice instead of beneath it as usual. This is the scene of last year's ice flood. - The waterfall is now a slushy rapids. - The lower floodplain of the west fork. The good news -- Timson Creek is normal. - The end.
