$OO Line Ice Bunker Refrigerator
#39525

-

Start with the sides. Two pieces of 1/2" plywood with strips
of wood 3/4" wide and 1/4" thick glued to one side.
-

The Boxcar ends are supplied by Railroad Warehouse. These are cast iron
and add quite a bit to the weight of the car. They include tabs for
attaching to the box.
-

There is a tab for attaching the ends to the floorboard.
-

Once attached, a final strip is added to cover the screwheads.
-

Time to paint the car inside and out with that classic reefer color.
Notice the 10 tons of ballast, new and untouched.
-

This is wife (of 30 years), Donna, helping out with the painting.
Notice the track section storage tent, and NO railroad tracks anywhere.
-

Add vinyl lettering and a Tom Bee tube frame with couplers and
trucks and you are ready to go. (2 years later)
-

The roof is not ready yet, so I borrowed the roof from the caboose.
