Here's a couple more photos showing some details. In this photo, the cylinder covers are off. Since the entire engine is upside down, you can see the airways connecting the main cylinders to the valve bores. You also get a good view of the rear valve cover, also known as the valve crosshead guide.

In the next view, all wheels, axles, and bearings are installed. Notice how all four axles, being quartered the same, assume the same positions because of the counterweights. Also, in this view you can see one of the brass exhaust manifolds (inside the saddle) as the saddle bottom cover is off. Now see, if I wanted a 0-8-0, I would be done. But, no, this is a Mikado (2-8-2).
